The 19th ranked North Carolina Tar Heels beat the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers 75-49 in women's college basketball on Sunday afternoon before a crowd of 772 fans at the HTC Center in Conway, South Carolina.

North Carolina never trailed in the blowout win. Eleven different players scored for the Tar Heels, led by 13 points off the bench from Antoinette Bannister.

The Tar Heels won the game with defense, recording 21 steals, and 21 points off turnovers. North Carolina led by 12 points at halftime and pulled away in the second half with strong bench play. The Tar Heels non-starters outscored CCU 35-10.

Krista Goss led North Carolina with nine rebounds, six steals, and three blocked shots. Freshman N'Dea Bryant from Goose Creek High, scored six points, with two steals and two blocked shots in just 15 minutes of floor time.

Angelica Henry scored 15 points for Coastal Carolina to lead all scorers. But CCU shot a miserable 26.7 percent (16 of 60) for the game. The Chanticleers hit only one of 12 shots from three-point range.

Two former Myrtle Beach High stars made it into the box score for Coastal. Shatia Cole scored eight points. D.J. Hunter tallied five.

North Carolina is now 10-1 for the season. The Lady Tar Heels are 15-0 lifetime against CCU.

The North Carolina women's basketball team has made 20 trips to play in the Myrtle Beach area since former Francis Marion head coach Sylvia Hatchell took over the Tar Heels program in 1986. Hatchell has 879 wins as a head coach in NCAA and NAIA competition combined, ranking her fourth all-time, in women's college basketball.

Coastal's next game is set for Tuesday, December 18 in Orangeburg against South Carolina State. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
