Five Grand Strand Athletes Sign National Letters

Conway's Jordan Gore signed a national letter of intent to play baseball at South Carolina.

Two Conway High stars signed national letters of intent to play college baseball. Shortstop Jordan Gore inked with the South Carolina Gamecocks.

Gore hit .488 his junior season at Conway, earning him Class 4A All-State honors. He also went 4-2 on the mound with a 3.39 ERA.

Conway's G.K. Young signed with Coastal Carolina. He says he will likely play first base for Gary Gilmore's Chanticleers. Young hit .485 his junior season and drove in 32 runs, to earn All-State honors.

Carolina Forest slugger Marisa Runyon signed with the defending national softball champion Alabama Crimson Tide. Runyon led Carolina Forest to a 4A State Championship appearance last season. She batted .556 with 40 RBI and had a .975 slugging percentage.

Two athletes at Myrtle Beach High also signed college letters. WPDE All Hoop Zone selection Tanisha Brown is headed to UNC Charlotte to play basketball, and Cameron Crutchfield will play college golf for the Coker Lady Cobras.
