The 8th ranked South Carolina Gamecocks beat the Auburn Tigers 5-3 on Saturday before a crowd of 3,701 at Plainsman Park in Auburn, Alabama. Christian Walker belted a two-run triple to give South Carolina a 2-1 lead in the sixth inning. L.B. Dantzler followed with a two-run homer. In the ninth, Tanner English out of Saint James High, reached on an error and T.J. Costen scored on the play. The Gamecocks overall record is 29-11, 10-7 in the SEC.
The Clemson Tigers swept a double-header against the Maryland Terrapins at Bob Smith Stadium in College Park, Maryland. Clemson won game one 5-3 and game two 7-2. Jason Stolz went 2-for-3 at the plate in the series finale with a homer, a double and two RBI. Clemson's overall record is 24-17, 12-9 in the ACC.
The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers swept a double-header against the High Point Panthers at Watson Stadium in Conway, South Carolina. CCU won game one 9-7 and game two 17-7. The 17 tallies in game two is the highest run output in more than one year for the Chants. Coastal Carolina's record is now 26-13 overall, 9-3 in the Big South Conference. The Chanticleers will travel to Clemson to play the Tigers at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
