The Virginia Cavaliers beat the Clemson Tigers 6-3 in Charlottesville, Virginia. Jared King drove in four runs for the Cavs. The middle game of the three game series is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Saturday. Clemson falls to an overall record of 11-9 and 3-4 in the ACC.
The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers swept a double-header from the Albany Great Danes. CCU won game one 3-2. Rich Witten's RBI single in the eighth was the difference in game one. The Chants won game two 7-4. Witten keyed the victory with a 3-run double as Coastal improved their record to 15-6. CCU has won eight in a row.
