The 5th ranked South Carolina Gamecocks rallied from seven runs down to beat the Liberty Flames 8-7 in game one of a double-header in Columbia on Sunday.

Conway's Colby Holmes made the start for South Carolina. He pitched 6.1 innings, struckout four, but did not figure in the decision. Tanner English, a sophomore from Murrells Inlet, helped lead the Gamecocks comeback by scoring two runs.

In game two of the double-header, Liberty rebounded to salvage one game out of the three game series with South Carolina. The Flames beat the Gamecocks 3-2 in the nightcap.

Clemson 12 William & Mary 2

The Clemson Tigers rallied late to beat the William & Mary Tribe 12-2. Steve Wilkerson went 2-for-4 and drove in four runs for the Tigers. Clemson took two out of three in their season opening series.

Coastal Carolina 8 James Madison 7

The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers capitalized on three James Madison errors in the bottom of the ninth to record an 8-7 victory over the Dukes, at Pelicans Ballpark in Myrtle Beach. CCU swept two games from James Madison to open the season.

Coastal Carolina has added a game to its schedule to make up for Saturday's cancellation with James Madison. The Chanticleers will travel to Chapel Hill, N.C., Monday (Feb. 18) to face #1 North Carolina at 3 p.m.
