Light rain and freezing rain will move through the area through this evening.

With temperatures at or below freezing for cities across the Pee Dee and on the Border Belt, precipitation is mainly in the form of freezing rain. A light glaze on trees and power lines is likely in these areas, especially west of I-95, but it won't be enough to bring them down.

One concern is that some bridges and overpasses may get icy so traveling could become very dangerous.

Expect the rain and freezing rain inland to end from west to east by 5:30pm. Once it ends, temperatures will still be below freezing so dangerous travel is possible through tonight. Conditions will improve as roads dry early Saturday morning.

For the Grand Strand, temperatures are well above freezing so almost everything that falls will be plain rain. Travel troubles are not expected for the coast. Areas of rain will move through the Grand Strand between 5:30pm and 7:30pm.

The system will move away Friday night with sunshine returning for the weekend.
