  The Francis Marion Patriots opened the 2013 campaign with a 9-1 win over Claflin on Friday afternoon at Sparrow Stadium.  Florence Christian's Michael Wilson scored the first run of the year on a passed ball to give the Patriots a 1-0 lead.  Jacob Golliday was 2-5 with 3 RBI's highlighted by a two run triple in the 5th inning.

  Art Inabinet's team is favored to win the Peach Belt Conference and is ranked 7th in the preseason Division II national poll.  The Patriots continue the opening homestand with games at 3pm on Saturday and Sunday at Sparrow Stadium
