Jamie Callahan's high school career is coming to a close as Dillon looks to stay alive in the 2A Lower State baseball bracket.  The Wildcats ace suffered his first loss of the season on Saturday night giving up six runs in four innings in a 7-1 loss to Bishop England, but the rough outing is not hurting his future on the mound.

Callahan committed to play baseball for the University of South Carolina and Ray Tanner, but will have to make a decision in June when the MLB Draft rolls around.  Callahan is projected as a top 100 prospect in multiple prospect lists.   He's expected to be a top 5 round selection in the draft and then the decision will have to come: college or MLB right away.

"He has a bright future in front of him, but he could be a high draft pick too, so we're going to have to keep our fingers crossed," Gamecocks assistant coach Chad Holbrook said in an interview on GamecockCentral.com.

Callahan played in the 2011 Under-Armour All-American game at Wrigley Field in Chicago.
