Charleston Southern guard Arlon Harper scored a career-high 33 points to lead the Buccaneers to a Big South Conference semifinal victory over the VMI Keydets on Saturday at the HTC Center in Conway, South Carolina. Charleston Southern (19-11) beat VMI 71-65.

In the other semifinal, John Caleb Saunders scored 19 points to help the Liberty Flames (14-20) upset the Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs 65-62. Liberty will face Charleston Southern for the Big South Conference Tournament Championship on Sunday at noon. Winner will earn an automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament.
