The High Point Panthers defeated the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers 74-62 at the Millis Center in High Point, North Carolina on Saturday night. It was the fifth straight Big South Conference road loss for CCU.

Coastal had a 33-30 halftime lead but faded in the second half. Derrell Edwards and Allan Chaney each scored 15 points to lead four Panthers in double-figures. High Point has won four in a row and seven of nine.

The Chanticleers were led by Badou Diagne with 13 points and seven rebounds. Leading scorer Anthony Raffa was held to a dozen points.

Big difference in the game was at the free throw line. High Point got to the charity stripe 36 times, hitting 23 free throws. CCU hit seven of only ten free throws attempted.

Coastal Carolina head coach Cliff Ellis said, "They (High Point) just took us out of our game. In a slugfest, they got to the line more than we did, and let's kind of leave it at that."

Coastal is now 1-9 away from home this season. Their record falls to 11-11 overall, 6-5 in the conference. The Chants will continue on the road with a game at Presbyterian at the Templeton Center at 7 p.m. in Clinton, South Carolina.
