Darlington's Orlando Hudson loves the Pee Dee and spends his off-season in his hometown. The O-Dog has used his star status as a major league player to help raise money for autism awareness with his CATCH Foundation. On Friday, Hudson began the day at Jersey Mike's in Murrells Inlet signing baseballs for one dollar with all the money going to charity and he concluded the night with his annual Christmas dinner in the Pee Dee, dressing up as Santa Claus and handing out presents to youngsters.
Hudson has made it clear that he does not want to retire. He finished his 11th career in the majors playing a reserve role for the Chicago White Sox and hitting a career low .204 with three homers and 28 RBI's in 2012. Hudson has played for six different MLB teams in his career, winning four gold gloves and making two All-Star appearances.
