Alabama is still number one in both major college football polls.
The South Carolina Gamecocks and Clemson Tigers both inched up in the latest college football polls released on Sunday. Following a 49-6 victory over the UAB Blazers, South Carolina is now ranked 7th in the Associated Press Poll. That is up one spot from last week. The Gamecocks (3-0) are 8th in the Coaches Poll, also up a notch from one week ago.
South Carolina will host the Missouri Tigers on Saturday, September 22. Missouri received votes in both polls. Gamecocks head coach Steve Spurrier said on Sunday that quarterback Connor Shaw's bruised shoulder will not prevent him from playing against Missouri.
Clemson (3-0) is now 10th in the AP Poll, up one place from last week. The Tigers are ranked 9th in the Coaches Poll, also up one spot after beating Furman 41-7 on Saturday.
Clemson will travel to Tallahassee to play at Florida State on Saturday, September 22. Florida State is ranked 4th in both polls. The Clemson-FSU game will be the first top 10 match-up between ACC schools in five years.
The Alabama Crimson Tide is again number one in both polls. The top four in the AP and Coaches Polls are the same, LSU is now second followed by Oregon and FSU.
