The Myrtle Beach Seahawks scored 21 unanswered points to stun the Irmo Yellow Jackets 33-27 at the Derrick Law Firm Kickoff Classic at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium on Saturday night.

C.J. Cooper blocked an Irmo punt late in the game, O.T. Thomas grabbed the ball out of the air and dove into the end zone to win the game in dramatic fashion.

Myrtle Beach kicker Max Huggins booted two field goals. One of them, from 47 yards out, put Myrtle Beach on top 3-0 early in the contest. Tyler Keane later threw a TD pass to Sean Michael Orcutt to give the Seahawks a 9-0 advantage. Huggins' second field goal put Myrtle Beach in front 12-0.

Irmo stormed back with two touchdowns. Bryce Fashaw ran for the go-ahead score late in the second quarter to put the Yellow Jackets ahead 14-12 at intermission.

Irmo continued their offensive barrage in the third quarter, including a touchdown off a double-pass from Grant Davitte to Trey Suber to Andre Jamison, that gave them a 27-12 lead.

Myrtle Beach roared back with a pair of scores. Keane rolled left and fired to the opposite side of the field to Trell Harrell to pull the Seahawks within two points of the lead at 27-25.

With under four minutes to play in the game, Cooper blocked a punt and Thomas scored to complete the Seahawks amazing comeback. Reynard Pointer came up with a key interception to foil Irmo's final drive.

Myrtle Beach (1-0) will play the West Florence Knights (1-0) next Thursday night at Florence Memorial Stadium.
