The Florence Legion 1 baseball team defeated Wilmington 10-2 on Monday afternoon in Sumter to win the Southeast Regional. Florence advances to the Legion World Series in Shelby, North Carolina. Chris Washington, who starred on the mound for the Marion Swamp Foxes in high school, threw a complete game 7 hitter, striking out 8 to help Florence get the win. Florence jumped out a to a 3-0 lead in the first inning and tacked on four runs in the 6th to put the game away.
