Another former WPDE All-Zoner is getting a chance at the NFL. Brandon Bostick has signed a free agent deal with the Green Bay Packers. Bostick, who played wide receiver at Division II Newberry, will try and make the Packers roster as a tight end. Bostick was invited to Packers rookie three day minicamp on a tryout basis and was signed by Packers GM Ted Thompson on Wednesday. Bostick made WPDE's All-Zone team in 2006.
Bostick joins a number of former players with local ties who are getting an opportunity to go to an NFL Training Camp as a free agent including North Myrtle Beach's Ryan Quigley, who inked with Chiacgo, Lake City's Edmon McClam, who will go to Detroit Lions training camp, and former CCU tight end Jamie Childers who signed with the Saint Louis Rams.
