The Waccamaw Warriors continue its dominance in overall excellence in varsity athletics by winning the WPDE Zone Cup for the fifth time in eight years. Waccamaw scored 530 points in the competition that awards points for post-season performance in every varsity high school sport.
Waccamaw's 530 point total is the second highest in Zone Cup history. The Warriors had six sports that reached the state semifinals or better highlighted by the boys tennis team 2A state championship.

Hartsville was the runner-up for its best showing ever in Zone Cup competition with 325 points, highlighted by the 3A boys state basketball crown and 3A softball state championship. Dillon finished 3rd, followed by Johnsonville and Myrtle Beach in the top five. Defending Zone Cup champ Saint James finished in sixth place.
