Tony Dorsett signed autographs at a charity event in Pawleys Island on Saturday.
NFL Hall of Famer Tony Dorsett was on Grand Strand this weekend to help a Georgetown area charity. Dorsett hosted the AMI Kids Annual Golf Tournament at True Blue Resort in Pawleys Island, South Carolina.
AMI has plans to build a new house in Georgetown, South Carolina to host troubled kids and give them a second chance. The program has seen high success rates in keeping youngsters out of the juvenille system.
Dorsett rushed for over 12,000 yards and 91 scores during his NFL career. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1994. Dorsett told WPDE NewsChannel 15 that he enjoys coming to the Grand Strand and lending his name to this worthy cause. Dorsett also spoke about his role in helping to get all NFL alumni lifetime health insurance.
Dorsett, 58, had his Heisman Trophy on display and signed autographs. He played the majority of his NFL career with the Dallas Cowboys and was a member of the Super Bowl XII Champions. He won the Heisman in 1976 at Pittsburgh.
