Former Conway High wide receiver Junior Hemingway was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in round seven of the NFL Draft on Saturday. The 6'1" 225 pound Hemingway was the 238th overall pick in the draft.

Hemingway was named Sugar Bowl MVP after catching two touchdown passes in the Michigan Wolverines 23-20 win over the Virginia Tech Hokies back in January. For the year, Hemingway caught 34 passes for 699 yards and four touchdowns. He ranked third in the nation in yards per catch during his senior season.

The Chiefs are hoping that Hemingway's size and strength will provide match-up problems for opponents. Hemingway was picked twice on WPDE's All-Zone team. In 2006, he was a finalist for the Zoneman Trophy, awarded to the area's top football player.
