Myrtle Beach's Ramon Sessions is leaving Cleveland for Los Angeles. The point guard has been traded by the Cavaliers to the Lakers in exchange for a 2012 first round pick. The deal also featured Luke Walton traded to Cleveland in exchange for forward Christian Eyenga.
Sessions had been rumored in trades the entire season with the emergence of #1 overall pick Kyrie Irving starting at point guard in Cleveland. Ramon averaged 10.5 points and 5.2 assists in a reserve role for the Cavs this season. He's expected to take a prominent role in the Lakers rotation. Sessions has two years remaining on his current contract, making $4.2 million dollars this season and $4.5 million in his option year in 2012/13.
This is Sessions' fourth NBA team. He was drafted in the second round by the Milwaukee Bucks playing there for two seasons. He signed a free agent deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves before being dealt to Cleveland where he spent the last two years. Ramon Sessions won WPDE's Mister Hoop Zone Trophy in 2003 and 2004.
