The VMI Keydets hit 14 three pointers to rout Coastal Carolina 85-68 in the quarterfinals if the Big South Conference Tournament in Asheville, NC on Wednesday.

CCU scored a 17 point win over VMI just four days earlier but the Keydets shot a sizzling 62.5 percent from the floor in the first half.

Keith Gabriel had 14 points in the first half as VMI built an 11 point lead. Coastal closed the gap to 43-37 thanks to a Danny Nieman three to end the half.

Chris Gradnigo got the Chants within one early in the second half, but VMI went on an 8-0 run highlighted by a Gabriel dunk that the Chants could not recover from.

Gabriel had 20 points and Jordan Weethee had 15 including 5 of 6 from three point range. Sam Mclaurin led CCU with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Coastal finishes the season with a 19-11 record.
