The 10th ranked South Carolina Gamecocks (10-2) will play the 21st ranked Nebraska Cornhuskers (9-3) out of the Big 10 Conference in the Capital One Bowl on Monday, January 2nd at 1 p.m. The game will be played at Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium in Orlando, Florida and televised by ESPN. The Gamecocks finished 9th in the final BCS standings released Sunday night. The Capital One Bowl payout of $4.6 million is the most of any non-BCS bowl. The Gamecocks have never beaten the Cornhuskers in three previous meetings. South Carolina is 4-12 lifetime in bowl games.
The 14th ranked ACC Champion Clemson Tigers (10-3) will meet the 23rd ranked West Virginia Mountaineers (9-3) out of the Big East Conference in the Orange Bowl on Wednesday, January 4th at 8:30 p.m. The game will be played at Sun Life Stadium in Miami and televised by ESPN. Clemson finished outside the top 10 in the final BCS but earned the Orange Bowl berth by winning the ACC. Clemson beat West Virginia in the 1989 Gator Bowl in the only previous meeting between the schools.
