The struggling South Carolina Gamecocks beat the Clemson Tigers 58-55 in college basketball on Saturday at Littlejohn Coliseum in Clemson.

Freshman Anthony Gill hit a 3-pointer with just over a minute to play to break a 49-all tie. With under a minute to go, 2009 WPDE Mister Hoop ZoneEric Smith out of Mullins High buried a clutch jumper. From there, Bruce Ellington and Malik Cooke took care of the rest from the free throw line.

The Gamecocks trailed by as many as seven in the second half. The victory was their second in a row over the Tigers.

South Carolina improves to a record of 3-5. Clemson falls to 4-3.
