The Myrtle Beach High Lady Seahawks volleyball team lost 3-0 to the Eastside Eagles in the 3A State Championship held at White Knoll High School in Lexington on Saturday.
Eastside won 25-23, 25-23 and 25-18 to caputure the first volleyball title in school history. The Lady Seahawks had never made it past the first round of the volleyball playoffs before this season. Myrtle Beach finished the regular season and region play with a 16-0 record.
The Seahawks athletics program has fallen short twice this year against Eastside. In May, the Eastside boys soccer team beat Myrtle Beach 2-1 for the 3A Championshp.
