Former Coastal Carolina wide receiver Jerome Simpson was questioned by police on Tuesday after a shipment of 2.5 pounds of high grade marijuana was delivered to his Crestview Hills, Kentucky home.  The Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver was not arrested, but is being investigated along with offensive lineman Anthony Collins.  CaliforniaWatch.org broke the story which was later confirmed by  California Department of Justice spokeswoman Michelle Gregory.  Gregory said that according to the report, a 27 year old woman,   Aleen Smith, allegedly signed for the package. The source of the drugs was Northern California.  Simpson and Collins were both at home at the time of delivery, according to the report.  Simpson gave authorities permission to search the home when another six pounds of marijuana were found.

The head of the National Marijuana Initiative implied that the house was set up as a potential distribution network.  Simpson deleted his twitter account and closed down his personal web page.  Multiple media reports say that Simpson attended Bengals practice on Wednesday.

Here's a compilation of media stories reporting the Simpson marijuana story:
