The Coastal Carolina men's basketball team released its 2011-12 schedule. Highlighting the non-conference slate is home games against LSU and the College of Charleston. CCU will travel to Littlejohn Coliseum to face the Clemson Tigers in November. In addition, the Chanticleers will host an ESPN Bracket Busters game on The game against the SEC Tigers was supposed to debut CCU's new basketball arena, but construction has been delayed. It's likely that Coastal will wait until November of 2012 to open the new facility.
CCU is coming off back to back 28 win seasons. The Chanticleers have hosted and reached the Big South championship game in the last two years, falling short and settling for a pair of trips to the NIT.

The Big South has added Campbell to the basketball fold and with that, a change in the league structure. All teams will continue to have 18 conference games, but with ten teams, the rotation is changed. Coastal will only play Radford and Winthrop once. Unfortunately for Coastal fans, the Eagles will not be coming to Kimbel in the regular season. It's a shame, since this is probably the most heated rivlary in the entire league. While Coastal has four non Division I opponents, the non-conference slate has gotten a little tougher with LSU, College of Charleston and road trips to Florida International, Citadel, East Carolina and Clemson.
