Coastal Carolina head football coach David Bennett was kind to the division II program he coached nearly ten years ago. The Chanticleers racked up 17 first quarter points and cruised to a 20-3 victory over the Catawba Indians on Saturday night at Brooks Stadium in Conway.

Aramis Hillary threw for one touchdown and ran for another to lead the way for Coastal. Hillary completed 16 of 24 passes for 220 yards for the Chants who improve to a record of 2-0. The offensive highlight was a 52 yard TD pass from Hillary to Matt Hazel.

Andre Jacobs led the defense with nine tackles including two for losses. Marcus Lott added seven stops for the Chants. Next Saturday, September 17, CCU will travel to Georgia to take on the winless Bulldogs in Athens with kickoff set for 1 p.m.
