Tanner English turns down pros, will become a Gamecock

  Tanner English went to his Twitter account to announce that he will play college baseball for the South Carolina Gamecocks, turning down an offer from the Tampa Bay Rays.  English was a 13th round pick by the Rays and waited until the day of the deadline to make his official decision just two hours before the midnight deadline.

  English enrolled in summer classes last month in Columbia, but kept the door open to sign with the pros.  Assistant coach Chad Holbrook was happy with the news and took to his twitter account:
