The Florence Maple Park all-stars lost a first round game at the Dixie Youth Majors (11-12) World Series 8-3 to Troup County from Georgia on Saturday in Carthage, North Carolina.

Jaye Woods hit a 2-run homer and Tyler Davis drove in a run for Maple Park. But three runs was not enough. Undefeated Troup County responded with eight runs, led by Larkin Easterwood. He pounded out three hits, including a homer, and drove in four runs for the Georgia all-stars.

Maple Park will play an elimination game against a Dixie all-star team from North Carolina at 10 a.m. on Sunday.
