Coastal Carolina held its first scrimmage of summer camp at Brooks Stadium. The Chanticleers had to endure a 90 minute rain delay before hitting the field just after 11:30 am.
Among the big plays from the scrimmage:
* Jamie Childers launched a bomb to Matt Hazel for a touchdown.
* Aaron Jones scored from one yard out to cap off a drive for the offense
* Johnny Houston picked off Aramis Hillary inside the five yard line.
* Josh Norman delivered a crushing hit on Dushawn Davis to break up a pass

David Bennett said after the scrimmage that they are still evaluating the battle for starting quarterback. He said that both Childers and Hillary both did good things during the scrimmage and he's happy there is a quarterback controversy because there are two quarterbacks to "controverse about".
