MYRTLE BEACH -- WPDE Sports has learned that offensive lineman TJ Jones has given a verbal commitment to play for Joker Phillips and the Kentucky Wildcats.

The 6'5" 276 pound left tackle gave his pledge to the Wildcats staff Monday night choosing the SEC school over an offer from East Carolina.

Seahawks coach Mickey Wilson said Jones came on strong during Myrtle Beach's state championship run.

Wilson said Jones' work in blocking current Gamecock Jadaveon Clowney was key to Myrtle Beach beating South Pointe in the 3A state title game.
