The Black Bear Golf Course in Longs hosted the 3A state golf championships. The Saint James Sharks held a 4 shot lead heading into the second and final round. The Sharks were poised to win its first ever golf state championship as Andrew Harvey's approach on 15 came within 2 inches of the hole for a tap in birdie. On the par 5 18th, the Sharks thought they won the championship when Austin Frick sank an eagle putt, but when the scorecards were tallied both Saint James and AC Flora stood tied at 588 for the two day total among ten golfers.
The playoff hole was on 18 as the top four golfers from each squad played head to head with the low aggregate score claiming the 3A title. A steady rain came down as two Sharks found the water on their 2nd shot.
