26-year old South African Charl Schwartzel won his first major championship shooting a 6-under par 66 to win the 2011 Masters Championship. Schwartzel finished 14-under for the tournament, two shots ahead of Jason Day and Adam Scott. Schwartzel's finishing round was the lowest at the Masters in 22 years, following birdies on each of the final four holes, on the way to a first place check for $1,440,000. Tiger Woods finished 10-under and tied for 4th.

Former Coastal Carolina All-American Dustin Johnson struggled on Saturday and Sunday. Johnson shot 1-over par 73 in the third round and closed with a 74. The Myrtle Beach resident ended up 1-over par for the tournament and tied for 38th place. A bogey on 11 and a triple bogey on 13 cost him a chance at a top 15 finish.
