(AP) -- Jeff Schaus' double broke a 5-5 tie in the eighth inning and Will Lamb supplied a knockout blow with a bases-clearing single as No. 12 Clemson beat previously unbeaten and fourth-ranked South Carolina 10-5 Sunday.
Trailing 5-4 entering the eighth Saturday, the Tigers (7-2) scored six runs off Gamecock stopper Matt Price. Schaus' line drive into right center with one out knocked in Brad Miller from second. The Tigers tied the game when shortstop Peter Mooney misplayed Miller's infield hit, allowing Jason Stolz to score from second base.
Joseph Moorefield (1-0), the last of four Clemson pitchers, pitched the final two innings. Price (0-1) was knocked out after two-thirds of an inning and took the loss. Schaus knocked in the Tigers' first two runs with a two-out double in the third inning. Jackie Bradley Jr. and Christian Walker homered for the Gamecocks (8-1). South Carolina won the opening game of the series on Friday. The three game series will conclude on Tuesday in Greenville.
