The 20th ranked North Carolina Tar Heels have done it again. The Heels broke a 51-all tie with 3:01 to play on a Harrison Barnes dunk and a steal and bucket by Kendall Marshall. North Carolina hit nine free throws in the final minute and held on for a 64-62 victory on Saturday at Clemson.
Barnes led UNC with 20 points. John Henson added 14 points and 12 rebounds. Clemson shot just 34 percent from the field and turned the ball over 16 times in the loss.
Clemson's overall record falls to 17-8 and 6-5 in the ACC. North Carolina is holding down second place in the ACC behind Duke. The Tar Heels are now 8-2 in the conference and 18-6 overall.
The Tigers will go on the road next Thursday February 17th to take on NC State in Raleigh, North Carolina. Tip-off set for 7 p.m.
