Lawrence Timmons won the 2003 WPDE Zoneman Trophy when he starred at Wilson High School in Florence. The Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker is getting set to play in his second Super Bowl this Sunay when the Steelers take on the Green Bay Packers in Arlington, Texas.
TIMMONS ON THE STEELERS RUN TO THE SUPER BOWL
It's been great. We had a tough feat with the Ravens down 21-7. We came back after halftime, played together and came out with the win. We went through the Jets, it was a great win and now we're going to the Super Bowl - there's nothing like it. I also like it now, because I'm a starter and I never thought I would start in a Super Bowl. I'm just so amazed to be where I'm at right now. I definitely came from a long way. Who would have thought a guy from Florence would be playing in the Super Bowl so I'm definitely blessed from that point of view.
TIMMONS ON THE GREEN BAY PACKERS OFFENSE
The running back Starks, is playing pretty well, but their aerial attack is pretty good. I think Aaron Rodgers is playing at a Tom Brady like level right now, we're really going to have to stop the pass - it's going to be hard, but for us to do that that would be the best way to win the game. During the meetings, the coaches are kind of setting the tone what we need to do to stop these guys. They run a lot of deep routes across the middle, a lot of slants here and there and they have a great screen game - we're going to have to stop that. If we stop that it's going to be a big success for us.
TIMMONS ON SUPER BOWL TICKET REQUESTS
I haven't gotten a whole lot of requests. You know it's so tough because you have to fly them there, you have to get a hotel, you also have to eat. The ticket itself is probably a couple of grand, me being a starter this year you get club seats so they are even more expensive. I'm bringing ten in. They are so happy. Everybody is like "oh my god, I can't believe you did this for us, I'm so happy." I'm just happy to bless my family because I can bless them. I'm just so thankful.
TIMMONS ON FLORENCE BECOMING PART OF STEELERS NATION
All the people that went to high school with me, my church everbody now is a Steelers fan. Normally from my area you have Redskins and Dallas Cowboys fan.

I'm still proud to this day to win that award. I remember receiving it with my parents. Definitely one of the greatest days of my life.
