The West All-Stars defeated the East All-Stars 35-21 to win the Offense-Defense All-American Bowl played at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium in Myrtle Beach on Friday night.

The West raced to a 21-0 first quarter lead with South Carolina Gamecocks commitment Shamier Jeffery out of Calhoun County grabbing a 16 yard TD pass. Jeffery is the younger brother of Gamecocks leading receiver Alshon Jeffery.

Lake City running back Shon Carson, WPDE's Zoneman winner, had 128 all-purpose yards for the East stars. Carson had four kickoff returns for 114 yards, caught two passes for 12 yards and rushed six times for two yards. Carson is committed to play baseball and football for the Gamecocks next season.

Other area players on the South squad were Waccamaw lineman Jerome Maybank who is a Clemson commitment and Michael Mabry out of Andrews.
