In week 14 action in the NFL, former Lamar High Silver Foxes star John Abraham led the Atlanta defense with three tackles including two sacks and one forced fumble that led to a score in the Falcons 31-10 win over the Carolina Panthers. Abraham, also a former Gamecock, now has 100 career sacks.
Ex-Coastal Carolina Chanticleer Mike Tolbert, now the starting tailback with San Diego, carried the ball 16 times for 66 yards and one TD and caught one pass for 13 yards in the Chargers 31-0 win over the Kansas City Chiefs. Tolbert now has 10 rushing touchdowns this season.
Former Wilson High and 2003 WPDE Zoneman winner Lawrence Timmons of Pittsburgh, made five tackles including one tackle for loss and one pass defended in the Steelers 23-7 win over the Cincinnati Bengals. In the same game, former Carvers Bay star Robert Geathers, Jr. made two tackles for the Bengals.
Justin Durant, another former WPDE All-Zone selection out of Wilson High, made three tackles for Jacksonville in the Jaguars 38-31 win over the Oakland Raiders.
Former Lake View All-Zoner Anthony Waters made two quarterback hits for New Orleans in the Saints 31-13 win over the St. Louis Rams.
Ex-Marlboro County star Robert Ayers made four tackles and had one forced fumble for Denver in the Broncos 43-13 loss to the Arizona Cardinals.
