Sage McLaughlin takes a look at the some of the interesting numbers, stats and figures heading into this weekend's South Carolina-Auburn football game.

0 - Number of players on the South Carolina roster from the state of Alabama. The Gamecocks have had mixed results recruiting that state in recent years, landing eventual NFL draft selection Captain Munnerlyn in the 2006 recruiting cycle, but also drawing a number of prospects who failed to complete their eligibility. One of these was offensive lineman Heath Batchelor, who was nabbed by Carolina in spite of a late push by Auburn under Tommy Tuberville. The Tigers currently have only one player from the state of South Carolina on their roster, Calhoun County's Eric Mack, also an offensive lineman.

0 - Number of times South Carolina and Auburn have met when both teams were ranked in the top 25.

0 - Number of first-half touchdowns allowed by South Carolina this season. Auburn has allowed four first-half touchdowns this season, including two last week against Clemson.

1 - Number of South Carolina victories all-time over Auburn. The Gamecocks are 1-6-1 against the Tigers, their lone win coming in a 16-14 contest played in Birmingham in 1933 under head coach Billy Laval (1928-34). The two teams met four times while both were in the Southern Conference, but following USC's lone victory they did not meet for another contest until 1996, after the Gamecocks joined the SEC.

2 - Cameron Newton's present SEC ranking in all-purpose yards. Newton has moved the ball for a net 834 yards this season, including 309 yards rushing, trailing only Arkansas' Ryan Mallett (1,078).

3 - Number of top-25 appearances in the AP Poll that USC has made this decade after three games. The Gamecocks were ranked No. 12 in 2007 after starting 3-0, including a win over Georgia. In 2001 the team was ranked No. 15 after another 3-0 start, which also included a win over the Bulldogs. Three is also the number of times South Carolina has appeared in the AP top 25 for exactly three consecutive weeks (including the current season).

7 - The number of times the Gamecocks have opened a season with four or more consecutive wins. The last time South Carolina earned a 4-0 season mark was in 2001, with a 5-0 stretch that ended in a 10-7 loss to Arkansas in Little Rock. Prior 4-0 starts include the 2000, 1988, 1984, 1928, 1910, and 1902 seasons.

10 - Number of career wins by USC coach Steve Spurrier over the Tigers. All-time, the Head Ball Coach is 10-5 against Auburn, including a 28-6 win in the 2000 SEC Championship. Spurrier has dropped his last three against the Tigers, after enjoying a seven-game winning streak at Florida between 1995-2000.

11 - Perhaps the most important number of the week for the fans, coaches, and everyone else associated with South Carolina football. All of the players at this week's game in the Plains will wear a helmet decal with the No. 11 in memory of Kenny McKinley, the school's all-time leader in receptions, who was found dead this week in his Aurora, Colo., home. McKinley was 23.

425 - The number of passing yards Stephen Garcia currently needs to pass Bobby Fuller on South Carolina's career passing charts, to become USC's No. 7 passer all-time. Over three games Garcia has thrown for 508 yards, putting him on pace to throw for 2,032 yards this season. This would make Garcia USC's fourth-rated passer, behind only Todd Ellis, Steve Taneyhill and Blake Mitchell, with a full season yet to play. Auburn's Cameron Newton has thrown for 525 yards this season.
