Former Coastal Carolina All-Amercian safety Quinton Teal has signed a two year deal with the San Diego Chargers. Teal played three years with the Carolina Panthers after making the team as an undrafted free agent. Teal played 44 games in Carolina, starting in 4 games and recording 45 tackles. The free agent signed briefly in the spring with the Seattle Seahawks, but was released by the club on June 9th.
Teal is reunited with CCU teammate Mike Tolbert in San Diego. There are now four former Coastal Carolina players on NFL rosters. Tolbert has emerged as a key contributor in the San Diego offense. Tyler Thigpen is battling for the backup QB job in Miami and wide receiver Jerome Simpson had 2 catches for 14 yards in the Bengals loss to the Cowboys in the Hall of Fame game on Sunday night.
