Myrtle Beach native Ramon Sessions is back home to host a weeklong basketball camp at Myrtle Beach high. 94 youngsters are on hand for the camp. Sessions teammate from Milwaukee Royal Ivey was on hand on Wednesday afternooon and former Clemson and NBA star Dale Davis is expected to make an appearance on Thursday.
It was supposed to be a quiet summer for Sessions, but the Minnesota Timberwolves agreed in principle to a deal with point guard Luke Ridnour. That leaves Minnesota with three point guards and the Myrtle Beach native is now on the trading block. When speaking with NewsChannel 15 on Wednesday afternoon Sessions believed that the Charlotte Bobcats and Toronto Raptors were two possible destinations. The Bobcats have agreed to a deal with a Shaun Livingston which makes Charlotte an unlikely destination for Ramon.
Sessions is in the 2nd year of a 4 year $16 million dollar contract and isn't too worried about the possibility of moving to his third NBA team.
All of the internet rumors and speculation aren't getting in the way from Ramon's weeklong basketball camp. Sessions is happy to be back home and showcase his two favorite trophies from his high school days. Sessions won a state title in Myrtle Beach in 2003 and won WPDE's Mister Hoop Zone award in 2003 and 2004.
