Cody Wheeler will start on Friday for CCU
Coastal Carolina practiced for 75 minutes at BB&T Coastal Field on Thursday morning. The Chanticleers take on Stony Brook at 1pm on Friday. Gary Gilmore has decided to go with lefty Cody Wheeler in the opener. Anthony Meo will be the Saturday starter and it's still a mystery who will get the ball in game three.
Gilmore says the Chants best weekend of the year came here at BB&T when CCU swept UC Irvine and NC State at the Baseball at the Beach Tournament. He's hoping for simliar focus this weekend.
The nightcap features the College of Charleston taking on NC State. Both the Cougars and the Wolfpack have played at the home of the Myrtle Beach Pelicans this season.
