More and more high school football stars are making early commitments to college. Myrtle Beach wide receiver Donte Sumpter, like his teammate Everett Golson, is ending the college recruiting process early.
Sumpter has commtited to play college football at East Carolina. Sumpter received an offer from the Pirates and committed on Tuesday night according to Seahawks head coach Mickey Wilson. The 2009 WPDE All Zone selection was the area's leading receiver with 78 catches for 1,103 yards and 14 touchdown catches. Sumpter will play for new ECU head man Ruffin McNeill, who will bring a pass oriented attack from his previous offense, Texas Tech. Myrtle Beach will have its spring game on Thursday, May 27th at 6:30pm at Doug Shaw Stadium.
