At the age of 5, Julia Crews was diagoned with juvenile arthritis. Her mother said that at times she had to be carried to class in elementary school. Remarkably, Crews battled and became a Wpde All-Hoop Zone selection at Carolina Forest.

On Tuesday, Crews signed a college letter of intent to play basketball at Brunswick Community College. Crews was one of the top three point shooters in the state in her senior year and topped the 1,000 career point mark - all this while getting regular arthritis shots. She's happy to be staying close at home to play basketball.
