13th ranked Coastal Carolina beat High Point 7-2 on Sunday to complete a 3-game sweep of the Panthers and run their win streak to eight. Jose Iglesias led the way for CCU with two hits and two RBI. Iglesias had a huge weekend going 6-for-12 with seven RBI over the three game series. Junior Matt Rein picked up the win in relief to run his record to The Chants have now won 27 straight Big South Conference home games. Coastal Carolina will host The Citadel on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
SOUTH CAROLINA 2 VANDERBILT 0
South Carolina head coach Ray Tanner picked up his 1,000th career win in a 2-0 decision over Vanderbilt in Nashville. Gamecocks pitchers Jay Brown, Michael Roth and Matt Price combined to face the minimum number of batters, recording a 2-hit shutout. Whit Merrifield gave South Carolina all the offense they would need in the first inning by hitting the first pitch of the game for a homer over the green monster wall in left field. The Gamecocks record improves to 25-7 overall and 9-3 in the SEC. Next up: South Carolina travels to Charleston to take on The Citadel on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
DUKE 7 CLEMSON 2
Duke beat 11th ranked Clemson 7-2 on Sunday to take two out of three from the Tigers this weekend. Will Currier and Dennis O'Grady both homered for the Blue Devils. The Tigers fall to 23-10 overall and 10-5 in ACC play. Clemson will host Western Carolina on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
