Coastal Carolina held spring workout number eight on Friday afternoon. The Chanticleers practiced for two hours. Of note, former WPDE All-Zoners RB Travis Small from Cheraw and CB Denzel Wedgeworth from Hemingway were on hand. Small put a Coastal uniform on for the first time while Wedgeworth is still nursing an injury and expects to be on the field in about a week. The Chants will conduct six more workouts before their annual spring game April 10th at Brooks Stadium.
In addition, CCU announced that they will host their 2010 Pro Day on Tuesday, March 30 on campus. All-American Fullback Tommy Fraser along with defensive end Phillip Oboh will work out for pro scouts.
This event has proven fruitful in the past, as it has been a showcase for Coastal's four players that have made the leap to the National Football League - quarterback Tyler Thigpen, defensive back Quinton Teal, fullback Mike Tolbert and wide receiver Jerome Simpson.
