CCU slugger Chance Gilmore broke a 5-all tie with a 5th inning grand slam. The Chanticleers trailed 5-0 early but rallied for 13 unanswered runs to beat the Hokies 13-5. CCU is now 2-0 on the season. The Chants will face Kentucky on Sunday at 3pm at Watson Stadium in Conway.
South Carolina 13 Duquesne 3
Christian Walker homered and drove in 5 runs in a 13-3 victory over the Duquesne Dukes at Carolina Stadium. The Gamecocks are off to a 2-0 start. South Carolina will finish the three game season opening series on Sunday at 1:30pm against Duquesne.
Clemson 10 Michigan State 2
John Hinson, Wilson Boyd and Mike Freeman each homered in the Tigers 10-2 win over Michigan State in a game played in Greenville. Clemson is 2-0 on the season. The Tigers return to their home stadium for a game against Furman at 2pm on Sunday.
