Last year the Myrtle Beach Seahawks topped Chester in Clemson to win the 3A state championship. This year, the Seahawks go to Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia with a chance to make it back to back titles. The players have treated this week like any other in getting ready for the game. Myrtle Beach will face Clinton in a matchup that features two very contrasting styles. The Seahawks are pass happy, while Clinton is 86 percent run according to Myrtle Beach film study. Seahawks head man Mickey Wilson said they would throw it 70 times if they get the chance. The Seahawks play for their 6th state championship and a chance to go back to back for the third time in school history. Reigning WPDE Zoneman Everett Golson knows what it will mean to bring another championship back to the beach.
Myrtle Beach and Clinton kick off at 6pm on Saturday night at Williams-Brice Stadium.
