The Houston Astros have recalled Jordan Lyles from AAA Oklahoma City and will make his first MLB start of 2012 on Sunday against the Cincinnati Reds.  Houston placed pitcher Kyle Weiland on the disabled list on Friday with right shoulder bursitis and Lyles will take his place in the Astros rotation.

The 21-year-old right hander was 4-0 with a 3.46 ERA with AAA Oklahoma City this year and an impressive 24-4 strikeout to walk ratio in four starts.  Lyles was the youngest starting pticher in the majors last year going 2-8 with a 5.36 ERA starting 15 games.  He lost out on a bid to make the Astros rotation in spring training, but now gets his opportunity to stick in the big leagues.

Lyles was a three sport star at Hartsville High and made WPDE's All Hoop Zone team as well as being named a Zoneman Finalist in 2007.
