The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers will play the South Carolina Gamecocks in both football and baseball according to Coastal Carolina Athletic Director Hunter Yurachek and South Carolina Athletic Director Ray Tanner.

Coastal will play South Carolina in football on November 23, 2013 at Williams-Brice Stadium. In baseball, CCU and USC will play at Carolina Stadium in Columbia in 2014 and in Conway in 2015.

Yurachek told NewsChannel 15 that the football contract has yet to be finalized, but that it would be in the $400,000 range.

On playing the Gamecocks in football, Coastal Carolina head coach Joe Moglia said, "I very much appreciate the history between USC and Coastal. I appreciate why it's a great game for the two universities. It's gonna be a challenge in football."

The 2013 CCU football non-conference schedule has some additional changes. Coastal announced that they will open the 2013 season in Orangeburg against South Carolina State on August 31. The Chants will also play Furman at home next season along with Hampton and Charlotte. CCU will travel to Eastern Kentucky and will play at Elon in the first of a two-year home and home series.
