Hemingway had a solid workout at the NFL Scouting Combine on Saturday.
Former WPDE All-Zone football star Junior Hemingway put up some solid numbers at the NFL Scouting Combine at Indianapolis, Indiana on Saturday. The ex-Conway High and Michigan Wolverines player fared well against the rest of the 2012 wide receiver class with his workout.
Hemingway, who won the Sugar Bowl MVP, ran back to back 4.5/forty yard dashes, which is considered fast for a big receiver. Hemingway stands 6'1" and weighs 225 pounds. He had the fastest time in the three cone short shuttle at 3.97 seconds. He was also tops in the L-drill, which uses four cones, with a time of 6.58 seconds. Hemingway also had 21 bench press reps of 225 pounds to finish tied for third best among receivers.
Hemingway had 88 career catches at Michigan for 1,638 yards. He averaged 18.6 yards a catch with the Wolverines and scored 11 times in his college career.
Hemingway's agent Joel Turner told WPDE NewsChannel 15 that Hemingway could be selected as high as the second round of the NFL Draft in April. Turner is also representing former Coastal Carolina tight end Jamie Childers. Turner says he expects Childers to be a late round pick.
